The Graduate

The happy day finally arrived. Scott graduated from his fire academy!! He received an award for having the top academic grade in the class. I am so proud of him. His first day on a fire truck will be Wednesday, Christmas Eve. We have always had to adjust our holiday celebrations a little bit with his 24 hour shift schedule. It looks like it will have to happen again this year. My poor kids don't know what day Christmas really is because we've celebrated on different days for so long. Hopefully I can distract them this year long enough for Scott to get home Christmas morning!

Now that we are back to our 24 hour shift schedule, things should calm down quite a bit around here. I know I couldn't have handled this crazy 18 weeks without my amazing friends and sister. Thanks for letting me vent when it got to be too much. Thanks for taking my kids when I needed to go to the grocery store, doctors' office, dentist, salon, alone. I can't ever begin to repay you, but I will die trying.

This new year will be interesting for us. Scott is going to start Cross Fit training in our backyard on his days off. Cross Fit is the workout routine Scott did at the academy. He lost 30 pounds over the 18 week period, so it works. If anybody is interested, you're welcome to join us. (photo courtesy of leegrantphoto.com)

Congratulations to Scott and to Julie, who's job is equally as strenuous and exhausting (in a different way).
