The birthday celebrations have begun with quite the kickoff. We decided to take a spur of the moment trip up to Oak Creek Canyon. We had a great time hiking with the kids after the rain stopped. Our first little hike was very rainy...luckily the good little cub scout in me was prepared with two umbrellas. Corey loved the hiking back pack. Natalie kept saying she was "on a venture like Caillou." The whole drive up there she kept saying she wanted to go on a hike. I don't think she knew what a hike was, she just knew she wanted to go on one. On the way out we stopped by Slide Rock. It's a natural "waterslide" area of Oak Creek. There weren't many people there, so we go to explore quite a bit. Overall, the trip was a hit. What a great start to my birthday week!!
