Scott's Academy

Scott at the top of Chase tower. The recruits ran up 40 flights of stairs. It is the tallest building in Arizona.
The recruits got the opportunity to plant 3000 flags at Tempe Town Lake yesterday. Each flag represents a life lost on September 11th.

The top of the Chase building.

I think it is fitting today, September 11th, to pay tribute to the first responders who lost their lives during the attack on our country. Scott being in a fire academy has made me think of them even more. Firefighters are brothers. I have always known they have a strong bond and depend on each other for their lives, but I am starting to understand why now. Scott's academy is very intense, physically and mentally. It is similar to military boot camp. These guys push each other to do better all day as a team. All members of this class are punished for another members' mistakes. At first I thought that was lame, butI understand it now. They are becoming brothers.
