Many of you may be wondering why we picked the name Corey.(Maybe you're not). I thought I'd give you a little background into who Corey was. Corey Lawton was a Battalion chief for the Gila River Fire Department. He was a funny guy who always teased me and the kids. He also made sure they always got a ride on the fire truck. He was a friend, confidant, and workout partner to Scott. He was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma a few years back and made it to remission. Then he started having a hard time talking. At Scott's urging, he reluctantly went to his oncologist. His cancer was back. This time he didn't beat it. He was 36 years old. I will always remember his huge smile, positive attitude, and laugh that was bigger than he was. The link has a picture from his funeral last September.
